ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

The Latvian Association of Universities unites Daugavpils University, University of Latvia, Latvian University of Agriculture, Liepaja University, Riga Stradiņš University and Riga Technical University. The Association was established in 2009 with the purpose of coordinating the activities of universities and collaborating on important issues, thus promoting the development of higher education and science and strengthening of university level education in Latvia.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE LATVIAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES

to promote the development of higher education and science in Latvia by supporting the universities’ contribution to the field of education and science and the growth of the level of university education;
to represent the joint interests of the members of the Association before the state and municipal authorities of Latvia, especially – decisions concerning the development of higher education and science;
in case of necessity, to represent the members of the Association in European and international university organizations, promoting the protection of the interests of the development of Latvian universities;
to promote the development and cooperation of the members of the Association, supporting the implementation of cooperation initiatives essential for the field of education and science.
